Past Project Experience – Delta Middle School Sanitary Sewer Realignment – Delta, CO
Project Scope and Relevance: This project included the installation of 287 lin. Ft. of new 12” Sanitary Sewer Main including excavation, backfill and compaction. One existing manhole was removed and replaced with a new 48” dia. Concrete Manhole. A new 4” dia. Sanitary Sewer Service was installed. Trench dewatering and trench stabilization was required.
Project Challenges: The biggest challenge on this project was that the depth of the sewer installation at approx. 10’ to 12’ depth. This resulted in dewatering operations being required. Additionally, approx. 2’ depth of unsuitable materials had to be removed and replaced with a Geogrid and 18” of 1 ½’ rock and 6” of bedding material. The allotted contract time was 28 days and was completed within the time frame allotted.
Change Orders: There were several owner-initiated additions to the scheduled work on this project. However, all additional work stayed within the allotted budget and were taken out of the Force Account. The final billing on the project was $502.98 under budget for the City of Delta.
Original Contract Amount: $88,501.50 Publicly Funded
Final Contract Amount: $87,998.52
